"Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence."

Dr. Maria Montessori

Montessori Tutoring for the 3-6 child

The Montessori Nook is small, but it is completely equipped with high-quality Montessori Materials.

It is called "tutoring" for the lack of better word, but your child's time here at The Montessori Nook won't be spent by "traditional tutoring", leaning over some activity book.

She will receive Montessori-presentations introducing the correct usage of the Montessori Materials, then she will be free to work as much as she wishes with those, exactly as she would do it in any Montessori School. She can choose her own work, try, make a mistake, recognize the problem and correct it on her own, experiment with alternative ways to do it and compare the results. Over and over again.

Traditionally, the Casa dei Bambini offers an uninterrupted three-hour work period, but it is also possible to schedule a tutoring session for one, two, or three hours.

Price (per child):

One hour: EUR 13

Two consecutive hours: EUR 24

Three consecutive hours: EUR 35

Monthly fee (12 hours available in 1, 2 or 3 hour increments, valid for one month, non-transferable) EUR 120

If you're homeschooling but feel uncertain about teaching subjects like mathematics, reading, writing, grammar, history, or science, consider outsourcing the entire process or just parts of it. At The Montessori Nook, your child can effortlessly learn these concepts through Montessori lessons and materials tailored to their needs. These resources were crafted to captivate your child's "imaginative mind" and foster self-directed learning.

Additionally, if your child is facing challenges with any of these subjects in school, The Montessori Nook can help. Integrating Montessori Materials into tutoring, students not only gain a better grasp of the content but also enhance their problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

Whether it's for homeschooling or supplementary education, tutoring with Montessori materials provides a structured and effective way to support your child's learning needs.

Montessori Inspired Creative Writing Course I-II-III-IV.

These four, ten-week courses aim to develop your child into a confident, passionate, and proficient writer.

We convene weekly for a 90-minute session, and I also offer a plethora of additional ideas and printable materials for your child to practice at home.

With the first course, we delve into the core elements of grammar: words. Utilizing Montessori Materials, we explore the Functions of Words (such as Nouns, Articles, Adjectives, Verbs, etc.), and everything associated with them, including Word Families, Compound Words, Suffixes, and Prefixes.

The second and third courses focus on the fundamental components of text construction: Sentences and Paragraphs.

Your child will learn the anatomy of a sentence, the various types of sentences that exist, and the diverse roles words play within a sentence. Topics such as Subject, Predicate, Object, Modifiers, and Conjunctions within a simple sentence will be covered.

The third segment of the course zeroes in on complex and compound sentences, after which your child will advance to crafting short paragraphs, grasping the standards for effective paragraph structure.

The excitement builds in Part Four, where your child will be introduced to different genres of texts (narrative, descriptive, expository, persuasive) and their subgenres (for instance, a narrative could be fictional or non-fictional, encompassing myths, fables, novels, etc.). Here, she'll explore the elements of storytelling.

Montessori Five Great Lessons Course

The elementary curriculum (also known as Cosmic Education) is based on five realistic stories, called The Five Great Lessons.

These stories are crafted to spark a child's imagination and curiosity, laying a solid groundwork for further discovery and education. They are narrated with considerable flair and drama, and are complemented by impressionistic charts, timelines, and experiments.

The First Great Lesson focuses on The Coming of the Universe and Earth (leading to studies in astronomy, meteorology, physics, chemistry, geology and geography).

The Second Great Lesson is called The Coming of Life and it covers evolution from the emergence of life on Earth right until the moment before the first humans. This provides foundations to biology and ecology.

The Third Great Lesson, The Coming of Humans, focuses on human history, from the very first beings considered "humans" until today.

The Fourth Great Lesson focuses on writing and communication (opening the door to the study of literature, grammar and other means of communication), while the Fifth Great Lesson introduces the child to The History of Mathematics.

There is another story, sometimes called The Sixth Great Lesson, written by Dr. Montessori's son, Mario. The Red River introduces the main systems within the human body.

This ten-week course gives your child the opportunity to listen to the Great Stories and then work with one/few aspects on the next week.

Montessori Book Club/Geography Course I-II-III.

These three, ten-week courses integrate a Book Club with Montessori-inspired Geography Activities.

Your child will read (preferably at home :)) Alastair Humphrey's The Boy Who Biked the World series, one for each course.

During our weekly meetings (90 minutes each), we'll talk about Tom's experiences, discovering with him the continents and countries; their landmarks, geographic features, flora, fauna, culture and traditions.

In true Montessori fashion, the courses will inevitably involve Language, Grammar, Science and Mathematics, too.

Montessori Inspired Introduction to Economics

This ten-week course introduces the basic economic concepts to your child, using Montessori or Montessori-inspired materials. With the right approach, children as young as six can understand the basics of economics.

We'll start with learning about Fundamental Human Needs, then we'll proceed to cover needs and wants, resources, scarcity, opportunity costs, the history of money and a lot more.

Using the Montessori Materials, your child will discover the idea of interconnectedness and interdependency.
