"Now the adult himself is part of the child's environment; the adult must adjust himself to the child's needs if he is not to be a hindrance to him and if he is not to substitute himself for the child in the activities essential to growth and development."

When people think about Montessori, they often picture the beautiful materials and the long lines of low-shelves in the well-arranged environment.

However, these are only part of the equation.

The true essence of Montessori emerges when a third critical element is also in place: The Prepared Adult.

No amount of Montessori Materials or the most elaborate, "Insta-worthy" Prepared Environment will suffice if the adult isn't prepared to gently guide, instead of directing, the child on her journey of self-fulfillment.

The Montessori Nook will help you to learn everything you need so you are able to provide your child "with an environment which will enable him to develop freely".

Montessori Crash Course

This course is intended for those who want to gain more insight to the Montessori Method.

During this 5*60 minutes course (workshop), we'll talk in great detail about Dr. Montessori, the basic principles of her method, also covering the specific Montessori terms ("normalization", "sensitive periods", "absorbent mind", etc.). We'll discover what makes a material (toy) "Montessori" and what qualities should serve as red flags or warning signs.

We'll learn about Montessori's Four Stages of Development and the characteristics of a child in each of those.

We'll debunk common Montessori "myths" and misconceptions (like: "it is expensive to Montessori at Home" or "Montessori has a free-for-all approach" or "Montessori is against fantasy")

Number of participants: 2-5.

EUR 70/person/course
